Sodium Bisulfate is a reducing bleach. When used as a booster in an alkaline Traffic Lane Cleaner such as Steam Way's Super Traffic Lane Cleaner, the Ratio would be 1 teaspoon SB to 5 cups STLC. It plays 3 roles:
1. causes the colors to be brighter,
2. causes the Ph to be neutral- so it would be safe for wool, with out diminishing the strength of the Traffic lane cleaner.
3. allows the TLC to release from the fiber easier, because the acidity is already there which allows the rinse aid to play its four roles better. (Read FYI about Rinse Aids)
