This two day course covers the history of dye, color theory, carpet dyeing process, carpet fibers and construction, and spotting procedures. Color restoration for sun fading, color enhancement for faded traffic areas, side-match correction, and "wear" related conditions such as shading, pooling and water marking are also addressed. Students will perform the color repair themselves with dyes on 10 pre-bleached carpet samples. This course covers marketing, how to match colors, dyes, and fibers, neutralizing, color therapy and detergents used as well as providing hands on application for students. A session on color rejuvenation and restoration is also covered as a bonus for the students during this class session. The IICRC color repair technician certification is now a requirement for IICRC Master Cleaner status.
